We are not raising money on this site

We will link to ways you can donate, but this site aims to list important information for those who would like to help. We will aggregate information and post it here in one place to make it easy to find, especially for people who don’t use a specific social media site like Facebook.

If you would like to send us a story, an idea, or a photo we could add to the gallery or share a post or link, please send your contact information and provide as much detail as possible that we can pass on, please use the Contact page form or email us as help@taylorsvalley.com

This site is initially about helping with the recovery and rebuilding. Still, it will eventually be turned over to the Taylors Valley Community Center, so feel free to send old stories, photos, or any information about the happenings in Taylors Valley. We’ll find a place to post it for the record!

So who is building the site?

Bill Blevins and his sister Bonnie Sullivan grew up spending time in both ends of Taylors Valley. One set of great-grandparents, Fred and ‘Mini’ Pearl Maxey, lived in a log cabin at the end of the paved road just before going up Chestnut Mountain, and the other set, Otis and Mildred Blevins, lived in one of the first houses you passed after driving down Cherry Tree Hill.

Bill and Bonnie still own land in Taylors Valley, where dozens of their family and friends live. You’ve probably seen one or the other a few times every year!

After searching for news about friends and family while Hurricane Helene devastated the community, they realized updates were being posted on Facebook. However, not everyone asking for news and information about helping or donating still uses Facebook.

TaylorsValley.com was launched on Oct. 1, 2024, so that there would be one place for people who want to volunteer, stay updated, contribute, or donate to help in the recovery and rebuilding to stay informed and learn how they can help with the recovery and rebuilding efforts in Taylors Valley.

Several residents in the valley are helping with the content, and we will add their information to the contact section over the next few days.
